Please tell me how to make soup or something with a ham bone?
start with a large pot , the water depends on the size and quantity of meat, probably enough to cover the bone by a couple of inches.chicken broth tastes better than water , add carrots ,about a bag of baby ones, or 4 or 5 large cut up .chopped celery, 3 or 4 stalks.1 medium chopped yellow onion more or less to your likeing, one half a stick er or margerine, i like about 2 or three chopped up potatoes for taste and it helps thicken the stock a little, the yukon gold ones work great.but any will do,same with the onion, salt and pepper to taste.bring all this to aboil reduce haet to medium low and let simmer for at least an hour and a half or till all the meat has left the bone. remove the bone and enjoy
