I have a question about alligator's answer asap please?

okay so me and a few friends went on a boat in a golf course and spotted an alligator swimming in the water, we chased this alligator around for a while in our boat and it didn't do anything, we were using a metal boat but the boat has you less then a foot above water, and plan to do it again sometime in the near future. does this alligator pose a real threat? should we inform the golf course staff?
