What are the advantages of being an S-Corporation over an LLC?

We are currently an LLC and a bookkeeper keeps telling me we should become an S-Corp. Because we work with coprights, we are self employed and have a home office, we wanted to protect ourselves, which is why we are an LLC. So why would we want to change to an S-Corp and would it still protect us?
